Is "Duo" mode functioning correctly?

Quadra emulates one of the quirkiest, rarest, and most curiosity-inspiring vintage synthesizers of all time, the 1978 ARP Quadra.

Is "Duo" mode functioning correctly?

Post by bhubauer »

I've never owned a real Quadra, so I don't know the correct Duo mode (2 voice) behavior, but it seems wrong to me.

I observe the following:
* Press and hold note 1 = both oscillators play note 1
* While continuing to hold note 1, add note 2 = Osc 1 plays note 1, Osc 2 plays note 2
* Release Note 2 = Osc 1 plays note 1, Osc 2 continues to play note 2 (no change)

Is this the correct behavior?

My expectation is that when I release note 2, Osc 2 will go back to note 1.

Regards,
Bill

ps. Other than this strange behavior, I'm over the moon happy with this synth. Outstanding job!

Hi,

This is the way the circuit worked on the original hardware. When you hear songs from the era, the musicians were working with this same 2 voice lead capability.
