How to restart lfo

What's the patching for restarting a LFO every time I play a note?

I have not programmed personal sounds for the CA2600, but I am interested to know what you mean. Are you looking to retrigger the start of an LFO cycle with each press of a note on a keyboard? I have some early 2000s hardware synth modules that have a setting to retrigger an LFO cycle like this ("key sync"). If it can be done on the CA2600, I'd be interested in seeing how to do it. I looked in the online manual and didn't see any LFO cycle retriggering options.

Unfortunately, the LFO is free-running, with no reset option. However, VCO 2 and VCO 3 can be used as LFOs if the INITIAL FREQ is set to LO, and they both have SYNC inputs (intended for oscillator sync). You might be able to do a reset by patching the GATE or TRIG out from VM into the SYNC in of the VCO after you've set it to LO. You would have to give up one of your three audio VCOs though.

I've already trialled the synth and I don't own it, so I can't test this, sorry.

Note: I wonder about using the DELAY TRIG of the LFO, possibly with a very short DELAY time. Would that reset the LFO?

BTW, Cherry's stock LFO has the option. It's pretty common in modular; most of the LFOs in the Cherry store have a reset.

This is the first homemade patch I have done on the CA2600 and from what I can tell, the CV -> Sync of an OSC as LFO does indeed retrigger the LFO. I used the MIDI gate with a ramp wave LFO on OSC 3 to the S/H Frequency Modulation in on OSC 1.

The attached test preset uses the factory Basic Triangle preset. The image just shows the important cables to make it happen.

PS: From what I can tell, the CA2600 LFO Module's Sync Button can only be used to sync the LFO wave to the host tempo (either standalone or DAW tempo).

Yeah, the Sync button on the LFO is for tempo sync. The Sync input on a VCO is for oscillator sync, a cool audio effect. Here's a good explanation of Oscillator Sync, using the G-Force Oddity (another ARP synth).
